wherever you may be! I am the lord of the launch said (s)he!
We had a marvelous time at the Urban Beet on Friday. The place was packed and many books were sold and the treats were cute and delicious. Maybe a little too cute. I’m told some people didn’t want to bite into the little sweeties below.
As Sara would say, “And these are my frizzles!” These chicks were created by Marvelous Medina if Nanaimo’s Wee Cupcakery. If you’re in town, go there are order the Pineapple Right-Side-Up and a Killer Chocolate Cheesecake. You’ll be happy you did.
Bertie after her makeover! This sheep cake was made by Cakes by Claire. Isn’t it amazing?
My dear friend Anicka knit me a delightful little chicken who helped out at the book table … I’m now accepting suggestions for names.
Chanticleer, our garden watch rooster, who is bigger than he appears in this photo, guarded the snacks.
Thank you to Anicka and Trevor who served radish and cucumber appetizers, Melissa who helped me run errands, Jim who sold books like a pro, Tai who arranged chicks, Darren, Bree and Alex from the Urban Beet, Medina and Claire, Judy who took little videos and everyone else who attended.
Woefield made #14 on the Canadian bestseller fiction list last week and thank you to the many bloggers who have taken the time to review the book. What would we do without the book bloggers?
Thanks to CBC Book Club for including my name on the most prestigious list I can think of and thanks to Mary and Book Club Girl for the podcast/radio chat this afternoon.
