I’m incredibly pleased to announce that The Truth Commission has been nominated for the Amy Mathers Teen Book Award.
This is a new award that is given out as part of the Canadian Children’s Book Centre Awards. It’s also the coolest new literary award in Canada. In 2014 Amy decided to undertake a marathon of reading and she chose to focus on Canadian teen fiction. You can read all about her adventure here. She wrote reviews of each of the 365 titles that she read. This heroic undertaking was used as a fundraiser to help create the new award, which is also sponsored by Sylvan Learning.
The 2016 nominees for the second annual Amy Mathers Award are Holly Bodger for 5 to 1, Erin Bow for Scorpion Rules, Stephanie Tromly for Trouble is a Friend of Mine and Emil Sher for Young Man with Camera.
Congratulations to all and a most sincere thanks to Amy for being a champion for Canadian teen fiction.
